Menopause is a natural life stage, but that doesn’t mean it’s always straightforward.
Menopause is confirmed when you haven’t had a period for 12 consecutive months — typically around age 51, but it can happen earlier due to surgery, medical treatment, or premature ovarian insufficiency.
The years leading up to this point — known as perimenopause — can begin in your late 30s or 40s. This is when hormone levels start to fluctuate, and many of the most noticeable symptoms begin.
Some women sail through with only minor changes. Others experience a wide range of symptoms that can feel confusing, frustrating, or even isolating — especially if you don’t realise they’re hormone-related.
If you’ve been feeling “off,” more anxious, more tired, or just not like yourself… this could be why.
Hormonal changes during perimenopause can affect many areas of health — and symptoms often come and go in waves. Some settle after menopause, while others continue.
Common symptoms include:
Irregular periods
Mood swings
Hot flushes and night sweats
Anxiety
Loss of libido
Insomnia or disrupted sleep
Weight gain or bloating
Fatigue
Allergies or increased sensitivities
Breast tenderness
Difficulty concentrating (brain fog)
Heart palpitations
Headaches or migraines
And more
Once your periods have stopped, low oestrogen can contribute to a different set of symptoms — some of which may become more noticeable over time.
These may include:
Vaginal dryness
Recurrent urinary infections
Prolapse symptoms
Depression or low mood
Joint or muscle pain
Osteoporosis
Gum problems or dental changes
Dry skin
Thinning hair
There are many symptoms of menopause and many are worse during the perimenopausal years often due to hormone imbalances (some may settle post menopause):
Irregular periods
Mood swings
Hot flushes/Night sweats
Anxiety
Loss of Libido
Insomnia/poor sleep
Weight gain
Fatigue
Allergies
Breast pain
Poor concentration
Heart palpitation
Headaches/Migraines
Plus many more
Post menopause is any time after a year of no periods. Some perimenopause symptoms settle but other symptoms may worsen due to low oestrogen levels:
Vaginal Dryness
Osteoporosis
Urinary infections
Prolapse
Depression
Joint pain
Gum problems
Dry skin
Thinning hair
Plus more
If your symptoms have left you feeling unlike yourself — more tired, more anxious, more overwhelmed — you're not alone. And you're not imagining it.
Menopause can affect every part of your life, from sleep and energy to mood, motivation, relationships, and work. That’s why I use a whole-person approach to support — one that goes beyond quick fixes and symptom lists.
The SENSSE® Method is a framework I developed to help women improve their health and feel more like themselves again. It brings together physiotherapy, lifestyle guidance, movement, and mindset strategies — and it’s always tailored to your goals, your stage, and your real life.
Whether you need a clear plan, structured follow-up, or deeper support — the SENSSE® Method is at the heart of how I work. Together, we’ll focus on the areas that matter most to you, at a pace that fits your life.
The SENSSE® Method includes:
Subconscious: Using mindset strategies and subconscious work to shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck
Empowerment: Building confidence, setting meaningful goals, and giving you the tools and strategies to implement change in everyday life
Nutrition: Supporting your body with simple, sustainable choices that reduce inflammation and balance energy
Stress Management: Managing your nervous system and building resilience to reduce overload
Sleep: Improving rest and recovery through lifestyle and mindset strategies
Exercise: Using movement to restore strength, energy, and confidence
You won’t be expected to do everything at once. We focus on the areas most relevant to you — and make changes in a way that feels manageable, not overwhelming.
Every woman’s menopause journey is different — and support should reflect that.
Whether you’re ready to book now or want to talk it through, I’m here to help you take the next step with clarity and confidence.

"When I first found Roberta I was in a pretty low place, having been forced into an early menopause by surgery I was really struggling with brain fog, anxiety, depression, lack of self esteem along with a host of physical symptoms as well - all of which was affecting my work and holding me back from pushing my own business forwards. I had tried working with various different professionals, but nobody seemed to either understand or be able to help me at all. Until I met Roberta, I now feel much more ‘in control’ and my self esteem has increased so much that I am making changes in my life so that I can make my own wellbeing a priority (I was always at the bottom of the list)!
